COLE CROSSEN
ILLUSTATOR / GRAPHIC ARTIST
I am an illustrator specializing in dynamic, narrative-driven work, recognized for its bold color, exaggerated perspectives, and palpable sense of fun. My work is highly detailed, approachable, and frequently features strong figurative drawing and custom typography. My aesthetic is influenced by street art, world music, underground comix, and the technical traditions of Mexican printmaking and sign painting, which I blend using contemporary digital techniques. This vibrant, cultural visual language has been deeply fueled by four years living and exhibiting in Mexico (2019–2023), where I developed a keen focus on capturing the energy of everyday life.
My work has been featured in both solo and group shows across the US and Mexico, and my commitment to visual storytelling was recognized with 2nd place in a major mural contest for the regional Laguna marathon presented by Grupo LALA. I approach every project whether personal or professional with the same goal: to create powerful, memorable images that jump off the page and tell a compelling story.
Currently, I am based in Oakland, CA where I live with my family and dog. I am passionate about collaboration and am currently available for new commercial and editorial opportunities.
